MInT Collaborative at the ASSOCHAM’s National Conference
Driving conversations on the future of digital transformation, Panel Discussion 4: “Digital Railways: Futuristic Technologies, Safety, Signalling & Smart Operations” at ASSOCHAM’s National Conference on “Future Ready Railways for Viksit Bharat” brought together leading voices from government, industry, and academia.
The session was moderated by Mr. Varun Sharma, Partner, Grant Thornton, and chaired by Shri Saurabh Bandopadhyaya, Principal Executive Director (Signal & Telecommunication Development), Railway Board.
The panel featured Mr. Mangal Dev, Head of Hitachi Rail Systems Business – India and South Asia; Director, Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Gitakrishnan Ramadurai, Professor, IIT Madras, and Mr. Shubhranshu, Former Chief Administrative Officer, Rail Wheel Plant, Indian Railways.
Highlighting the pace of transformation, Shri Saurabh Bandopadhyaya noted, “The rate of technology absorption in railways today is tremendous, across engineering, operations, and maintenance.”
The discussion underscored how digital technologies, AI-led systems, and integrated signalling and control systems are enabling Indian Railways to evolve into a more efficient, safe, and future-ready network aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
