MInT Monthly Roundtable | 29th November 2025
We recently concluded the MInT Monthly Roundtable on 29th November, bringing together the MInT core team, mentors, and collaborators, for an engaging and productive session.
The roundtable began with a warm welcome to all participants, followed by an update on the progress, MInT has made so far. Key discussions covered ongoing initiatives, the status of MoU signings, emerging new collaborations, and proposals being planned and progressed for engagement with Government departments – reflecting steady and positive momentum.
A key highlight of the session was the participation of our 25 shortlisted MInT-ATHON teams, who showcased their project ideas aligned with the theme “AI for Safe and Sustainable Mobility.” The teams presented their proposals to an esteemed panel of mentors, who shared valuable project-specific feedback, to help teams refine their ideas and move towards feasible, demonstrable solutions.
Another important highlight was the discussion on the project Moving Mountains Platform, led by Mr. Amit Kumar (associated with MInT). Moving Mountains is a real-time vehicle tracking platform developed to address campus transportation challenges at IIT Madras. Earlier, commuters had to wait at bus stops without visibility on vehicle arrival times; the platform now enables live tracking of campus vehicles, allowing users to plan their travel more efficiently.
The platform was officially launched in the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. Pawan Goenka (Board of Governors / CEO, IN-SPACe), the Director of IIT Madras, Deans, and other senior officials. Since its launch, the platform has recorded over 25,000 uses, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from the campus community. All operational data is securely hosted on IIT Madras servers, ensuring reliability and data security.
We also took this opportunity to welcome Mr. venkat vedam (Former Senior Program Manager, NVIDIA) to MInT as Principal Project Manager. He will be working on driving the execution and implementation of the Bharat Multi-Modal Mobility Stack (BMcubeS) as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), translating vision into scalable outcomes aligned with MInT’s mission.
